Two (2) cups sugar 1 1/2 cups whole milk Two (2) tablespoons butter (stick margarine is fine) One (1) teaspoon vanilla 1/2 cup peanut butter
Combine sugar, milk, butter and vanilla in medium pot. Cook at a slow boil until it reaches the soft ball stage (C=116/F=240) Add the peanut butter. Beat with a spoon until gloss goes away and you can feel it begin to stiffen (leave it in the pot and I use a wooden long handle spoon) Pour onto a large dinner plate that has been buttered.
Cut when cool. You can add nuts if you like.
